Gujarat industries organize Grand Navratri in Ahmedabad
Gujarat Industries Navratri Festival Society (GINFS) in corporation with Gujarat government has organised the nine-day long Navshakti Gujrari Vibrant Gujarat Navratri festival on GMDC-Gujarat University grounds in Ahmedabad. The show is being sponsored by 30-odd Gujarat based companies including Reliance Industries Limited, Essar, Advani Group, Torrent Power, Sterling SEZ, ABG Shipyard Limited, Nirma, Ambuja Cement, Anil Dhirubhai Ambani group, Aditya Birla Group, Dishman Pharma, Arvind, with a budget of Rs 15 crore.
This Grand Navratri extravaganza includes 6664 square ft stage, 75,000 Wat sound effect, 60 ft wide main screen, 24 smaller screens and Maha aarti with 50,000 people’s participation. Show is completely open for common public in traditional dresses(must) without any entry pass, ticket or invitation.
Professional authentic Gujarati garba singers including Shyamal-Saumil Munshi, Soli Kapadia, Parthiv Gohil, Aishwarya Majmudar, Nayan Pancholi, Arun Rajyguru, Divyang Anjaria are going to cater traditional songs and music at the venue.
India’s leader of opposition Shree LK Advani will inaugurate the festival on September 30 in presence of Governor Nawal Kishor Sharma and Chief Minister Narendra Modi.
Hoping for over 2 lakh visitors, GINFS chairman Parimal Nathwani said “Various programs have been organised for people including state-level garba competition, garba by famous artists and several traditional and folk dances.”
“It’s the responsibility of industries who belong to Gujarat to promote and preserve Gujarati culture,” he added.
On the garba ground, about 100 handicraft stalls and food courts serving variety of cuisine are set up. Organisers have related handicraft stoers with 2nd of October, Gandhi Jayanti. A section of the ground will display documentaries, while information on world heritage sites such as Champaner and 5000-year-old Dholavira will be presented. There will be also a fashion show for children, a fire rescue drill and other games.
