Located in the bustling shopping centre on CG Road, is a one stop shop having traditional and authentic handicrafts / handloom items from the nooks and corners of the country. It is Centrally air conditioned thus providing relief from the sweltering dry heat of Ahmedabad and providing various exlusive stuff worth its price. The best part is that the prices are fixed and hence there is no time or energy wasted on haggling on items, its just pick and choose, whether it is Kolhapuri Chappals, paintings, brass statutes especially of Lord Ganesha, show pieces, flower vases, Rajasthani handicrafts, jarokhas or Bedsheets / curtain cloth or clothes for children and adult alike. For the married couples with children, you can also leave your kids with your husband behind at the food court just outside the handloom house providing delicious chinese / south indian dishes and not to forgot Rs.10 softy ice cream. Do not forget to eat Panditji Pan, though at Rs.10 & special Pan at Rs.20, provides the right taste after hogging on the snacks at the food court. It is bustling with activity and crowd on Saturday & Sunday evenings and parking within the basement is allowed only for 2 wheelers and for 4 wheelers , there is parking on the road for 4 wheelers, though one has to be lucky to find parking near the handloom house.
After the hectic activity and lots of shopping, do not forget to have Vada Pav at Jai Bhavani and especially have the cold coffee to wash down the pav vada, it is just round the corner and few paces walking distance from the handloom house.
