Malls in Ahmedabad ready for makeover
Among the lot is NG Realty Pvt Ltd, an Ahmedabad-based company, who is looking to revamp its Gallops Mall located on the SG Highway. Started in 2006, the Gallops Mall is the first centrally air-conditioned mall in Gujarat. If the buzz in the market is to be believed, the mall is expected to be revamped in its new ‘avtar’ by October or November this year. Senior Marketing Manager of NG Realty Pvt Ltd, Harit Kothari, said, “People want something new after a point of time. Also, with the increasing competition in the market with each passing day, a change is inevitable.”
Kothari said that going by the market requirements, the management is looking to include some new attractions for value addition. “Some more tenants will be included which may have another anchor to increase the quality footfalls,” he added.
Kothari indicated that the mall may also get a multiplex, though he refused to divulge more details about it as the plans are still at a nascent stage.
Sources in the company reveal that as part of the developmental strategy the mall management is also planning to implement daily entertainment activities to attract more people in the mall in a bid to increase the conversion ratio into sales. According to market sources, as many as five more local and national brands are likely to set up outlets in the mall which may also include another anchor tenant. Also the mall management may come up with a family store to serve the entire family and entertain all-age group in the family.
While talking to DNA, NG Patel, chairman of NG Realty Pvt Ltd said, “We had been doing promotional activities at regular intervals for the mall. However, it’s also true that we are also adding some more tenants as part of expansion plans,” he said.
